Rio Tinto Hismelt Smart Plant Instrumentation Database Review
Rio Tinto undertook a project to dismantle their HIsmelt pilot plant at Kwinana in Western Australia and move it to China’s Shandong province.
IQ were engaged by Rio Tinto to support decommissioning and reconstruction activities by extracting instrumentation data and deliverables from the Smart Plant Instrumentation database originally used to design the plant.
As the database had not been utilised for some time, IQ provided expertise to reinstate the database and instrumentation design support to perform an initial review of the content. As a result, IQ were able to reproduce missing deliverables and configure new reports to assist the site teams. In addition IQ also supplied the Rio Tinto project team with user training and developed project specific work instructions.
